Schedule Change Information

Schedule change requests for the semester are no longer being accepted. Students should be sure that they are attending all of the classes that are currently on their schedule.  This includes Friday classes as well.  Failure to do so will result in appropriate disciplinary action.  Thank you all for your cooperation and patience in this matter.

Schedule Change Information

As of now, there will be no more schedule changes without going through the formal schedule change process.  This process requires obtaining a Schedule Change Request Form from one of our Guidance Counselors.  There will be a folder on Miss Tulip's door for the 6th and 7th grade students and a folder on Mr. Harlan's door for the 8th and 9th grade students.  They can also be downloaded from the Guidance Department section of the Providence Hall website.  The forms require students to specify which classes they are requesting to add/drop, a valid reason why they are submitting the request, signatures from both teachers that they are adding/dropping and a parent signature.  Forms must be completely filled out or they will not be considered.  Please remember that submitting a form is only a request, it is not a guarantee that students' schedules will be changed.  Changing of schedules will depend on class sizes, convenience and the validity of the request.  September 7, 2012 will be the final deadline for any schedule changes for the semester, so please make sure that all Schedule Change Request Forms are submitted prior to that date.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your or your student's grade level Guidance Counselor.  Thank you!

Back to School Night!

Don't forget about Back to School Night tonight at 6:00!  There will be a short presentation by the Administration, followed by an opportunity to meet your students' teachers and experience a condensed version of what their typical day at Providence Hall Junior High is like  :)

As your Guidance Counselors, we would like to personally welcome you (or welcome back some of you) to Providence Hall Junior High!  For those of you who may not know, Guidance Counselors are certified educators who are uniquely qualified to address all students’ academic, personal/social and career development needs.  We address these needs through individual counseling sessions, group counseling sessions and classroom guidance lessons.  We collaborate with students, parents, faculty and staff to promote and enhance student success. 

Please take note of the name and contact information of the Guidance Counselor assigned to your or your student’s grade level (See below).  In an attempt to avoid any miscommunication, please be sure to contact the appropriate Guidance Counselor if you would like to speak with someone about yourself or your student.  Also, please continue to refer to our blog and our website (www.providencehall.com) for guidance-related information, guidance-related forms and any upcoming deadlines and/or events.

Herriman High School Arena Scheduling Update

Herriman High School will be holding an Orientation to Arena scheduling meeting for students and parents who would like to receive information on the arena scheduling process for the 2012 - 2013 academic year.  The meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in the Herriman High School Auditorium.  Students and/or parents should arrive at 6:00 pm, for the first time slot of the orientation, or 7:00 pm, for the second time slot.

Herriman High School Arena Scheduling Information

Herriman High School will be holding a scheduling meeting for students and parents who are would like to receive information on the arena scheduling process. The meeting will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 7:00 pm in the Herriman High School Auditorium. Students and parents who are comfortable with the process of arena scheduling do not need to attend.

Herriman High School Sophomore Orientation

Herriman High School will be holding their Sophomore Orientation on Thursday, February 16, 2012. There are two available time slots for the orientation. The first time slot begins at 5:30pm and the second time slot begins at 7:00pm.

If you considering attending Herriman High School next year, it is strongly recommended that you attend the orientation in order to get any questions that you may have answered.

9th Grade SEOP's

Over the course of the next few weeks (January 18, 2012 – February 16, 2012) the Counseling Department at Providence Hall Junior High will be conducting Student Education Occupation Plans (SEOP’s) with the 9^th grade students. Because student success is a partnership between students, parents, and faculty, we ask for your participation in reviewing your student’s academic progress and his or her plans for the future. Please follow the instructions below to sign up for a date and time with the counselor assigned to your student’s last name. Be sure to include your student’s name, your name, and your contact information.
